Hello all, I have a problem with not-wanted automatic national character conversion. I am using: php 4.0.3 MS SQL Server 7, code page 850 (multilingual), general unicode sort order IIS 5 on Windows 2000 Server, code page 1252 My data is stored in unicode data types: nchar, nvarchar on MS SQL Server. I have a php script which connects to SQL Server through mssql functions or odbc functions(tried both). The problem is that in my script I do not get correct data: e.g. on SQL Server I have symbol with Unicode code 371 (that is latin small letter u with ogonek). In my php script I get simple latin ASCII symbol. What is interested - four symbols out of all needed do not get distorted, I receive them in Unicode (numbers 352,353,381,382 in decimal). As I know, php mssql70.dll uses ntwdblib.dll which does not support unicode data. But what is the problem with odbc functions ? Maybe someone knows where the conversion is done and for what purpose ? The second question is: how to avoid the conversion and get data exactly as is stored on MS SQL Server ? Thank you. Irma
