How about a shitty ISP? MySQL-Connections in PHP is closed automatically on
script-termination. I can imagine that they have poorly configured system. I
had that problem with one of my ISPs. They denied to see any problem and
behaved very poorly. I have now switched to a new one with great config and
where everything rocks.
I can imagine that some ISP imagine that a database is just to install and
then forget about.. ehmm..
