On Redhat I use ./configure --with-apxs --with-pgsql=/usr --prefix=/usr as the data is kept in /var/lib/pgsql and libraries are in /usr/lib/pgsql -----Original Message----- From: Mark Christenson [mailto:mark.christenson@alumni.stanford.org] Sent: 09 December 2000 21:24 To: php-db@lists.php.net; php-install@lists.php.net Subject: [PHP-DB] pgsql support not working... I'm running 4.0.3pl1 with PostgreSQL 6.5.2 on a LinuxPPC machine. I ran ./configure as follows: ./configure --with-apxs --with-pgsql=/var/lib/pgsql Then I did: make and finally: make install I edited httpd.conf to include the following line: LoadModule php4_module modules/libphp4.so I restarted apache. I have a web page called phptest.php as follows: <HTML> <BODY> <? phpinfo(); $dbconn = pg_Connect("host=cx510552-a user=postgres port=5432 dbname=test"); if (!$dbconn) { echo "Connection failed"; exit; } ?> </BODY> </HTML> The output of this page in a browser ends with the following: Working Directory: /home/mark/public_html Include Path: . GDBM support enabled Apache module support enabled GD support enabled SAFE MODE Enabled! phptest.php: parse error on line 6 $dbconn = pg_Connect("host=cx510552-a user=postgres port=5432 dbname=test"); FWIW, I had (have?) PHP3 installed on the machine as well, but I've commented out the references to php3 modules in the httpd.conf file. Any ideas what's wrong? It seems as though the pgsql support isn't configured in...
