Hi there,
Already three weeks I try to setup a WEB server with PHP4 (XML support) and
some database support.
I'm running a Slackware 7.1 box (kernel 2.2.16 glibc 2.1).
I could install apache with mod_ssl, mod_perl and mod_so static successfully.
The WEB server runs fine with this enabled.
I' ve up and running MySQL and PostgreSQL.
So I try to set up PHP4 as a DSO.
If I configure --with-mysql=/path/to/mysql ( here are the complete switches:
--prefix=/usr/local/php
--mandir=/usr/local/man
--with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
--with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql
--with-config-file-path=/etc/php ),
copy ${PHPSRC}/php.ini-dist to /etc/php and add LoadModule and AddType to
httpd.conf, apache segfaults for every client request.
If I configure --with-pgsql=/usr/local/pgsql (this is the only change in the
configure switches above), configure warns me, that I have configured WITH
MYSQL (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and that I should add the path to
MYSQL.
BTW.: If I don't add any --with-some_DB switch to configure, I get the warning
above. Does configure ignore my switches completely?????
The result is always the same ... segfault on demand ... :o(
Nevertheless -- could anybody give me a hint, how can I set up apache with ssl,
perl and php4 (best fit MySQL enabled)?
Thanks for every help and a merry christmas
Frank
