Oracle Outer joins supported in PHP4?

Hello,
This SQL statement works fine within the SQL+ environment:
select b.username, fprimer, rprimer, DNA_SOURCE_ID, pcr_name,
experimental_stage from A, B where fprimer = forward_primer (+) and
A.set_number = '1'
But in PHP4, when I do a while loop for OCIFetchInto($cursor,
$values,OCI_ASSOC+OCI_RETURN_NULLS)) no result set comes up.
Any ideas why? I'm stumped.
