The reason is that the libraries for interbase are not
shipped with php4. So far I couldn't find out if there
are any, but obviously there are because last view mails
showed that. From the mails I derive that there are
some problems with the interbase support.
I tried it via odbc but wasn't successful. On connect I
receive an error saying that the database is unavailable.
(I configured a system dsn). I assume that it is a problem
with some filesystem rights. Next week when there is some
time I try to figure that out.
Regards
Gerhard
P.S. System: Win2000, PHP4, Interbase 5.5 (network liscence)

Subject: [PHP-DB] Newbie question
My experience is with Delphi and WebHub, so I have a lot to learn!!
Here is my situation:
I have PHP 4 installed in my WIN2000 box.
I have Interbase 6.0 installed where it is used for other applications.
What do I need to install/change to run PHP with Interbase?
If I run the code below, I get an error message that ibase_connect() is
not recorgnized.
Many thanks.........
Todd
<?php
$user="SYSDBA";
$password="masterkey";
$host="c:\testdb\test.gdb";
ibase_connect($host,$user,$password);
?>
