How about reading man xinetd.
According to the log you did
killall xinetd
xinetd -reuse
killall xinetd
xinetd -reuse
killall xinetd
killall cvs
kill 32689 6420
[last message repeated 2 times]
kill -9 32689 6420
[last message repeated 8 times]
killall -9 cvs
xinetd -reuse
killall xinetd
xinetd
This is not every effective. To make xinetd reread its
configuration file (assuming you changed that and wanted to
"restart" it), a simple kill -USR1 <pid> would have been
enough.
Now I understand why xinetd "dies" so mysteriously.
