I've just finished trying to build Apache 1.3.9 with PHP4.0b2. I've
enabled shared modules with the exception of PHP (because I can't get
this to work at all as PHP fails to compile). Upon trying to build
parts of the distribution I now have -rpath <mysql directory> in the gcc
command into the Makefiles -- thing is I've never heard of this option
and neither has gcc. When I set PHP as a shared module it shows up in
the ld command line as well. It seems there's something ugly wrong
about the MySQL support option in the configure script(s)
So my questions are, 1) what is -rpath, 2) why is it there 3) is it
necessary and 4) how to get rid of it even if it is necessary (since GNU
gcc and ld don't support it regardless!)
TIA
