Hello,
Can someone on this list give practical working
examples of mod_rewrite on Apache.
I have tried the samples as put by its author but
they do not seem to work as expected. Specifically
I am looking at breaking a URL and storing info
into variables.
I know of two methods to get this done.
One is the above which I am unable to make it work (I tried the
.htaccess method RewriteRule ^/(\d+)/(.*) /$1/$2 [E=VAR:$1]
but could not succeed.
The other is 404 not found to be used to interpret the
referring URL and redirect appropriately.
Which of the above is preferred? I am looking forward
to someone providing me with real practical working
samples showing the .htaccess file or the 404 redirect
file.
TIA.
:)
