File descriptors are closed either explicitly by the program
or on process termination.
PHP's flock inherits the semantics of the underlying
implementation.
For BSD-like systems using flock(2):
When a file descriptor is closed, all locks associated with
it are released.
For SysV-like systems using POSIX fcntl(2):
When a file descriptor is closed, all locks associated with
the file the file descriptor pointed to are released.
