From: jmat@firewind.net
Operating system: Linux SMP 2.2.13
PHP version: 4.0 Latest CVS (14/01/2000)
PHP Bug Type: Misbehaving function
Bug description: metaphone doesn't work
I have a script that does this:
$q = mysql_query('select usernames,uid from usertable');
while ($a = mysql_fetch_array($q,MYSQL_ASSOC)) {
$mp = metaphone($a[username]);
$r = mysql_query("update usertable set metaphone='$mp' where
uid='$a[uid]'");
}
(okay, not efficient, but an example).
It doesn't *crash*, but metaphone doesn't work, and I get this back:
[Fri Jan 14 00:01:20 2000] Script: '/web/mp/admin/cron/integrity.php'
---------------------------------------
./zend_execute.c(378) : Block 0x081358A8 status:
zend_variables.c(63) : Actual location (location was relayed)
Beginning: OK (allocated on metaphone.c:190, 8 bytes)
End: Overflown (magic=0x2A8FCC00 instead of 0x2A8FCC84)
1 byte(s) overflown
---------------------------------------
And none of my metaphones get updated. (it's like it breaks out of that loop altogether on the
error).
This is the latest CVS from 11pm on 13/01/2k.
