Right. To be more specific, all executables/libraries created by gcc depend
on the static libgcc.a. The front-end passes -lgcc to the link editor on
all but one occasion. The result is that shared libraries are lacking some
symbols from libgcc.a when you use another front-end beside gcc to build
executables.
