Don't know if this is my set up or a real bug, but I spent a *long*
time trying to get 4.0.0 to compile with these flags:
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs \
--enable-track-vars --disable-debug --disable-magic-quotes \
--enable-ftp --enable-wddx --with-imap --with-pgsql \
--with-zlib
Everything works fine with the above, but as soon as I add --with-mcal,
PHP complains that my version of zlib isn't >= 1.0.9 (which it is, of
course), and also has problems with the crypt functions. Here are the last
few lines of the configure output:
checking for standard DES crypt... no <
checking for extended DES crypt... no < these can't be good
checking for MD5 crypt... no <
checking for Blowfish crypt... no <
checking for libswf support... no
checking for Sybase support... no
checking for Sybase-CT support... no
checking whether to enable System V semaphore support... no
checking whether to enable System V shared memory support... no
checking whether to enable WDDX support... yes
checking whether byte ordering is bigendian... no
checking for XML support... yes
checking whether to include YP support... no
checking whether to include zlib support... yes
checking for gzgets in -lz... no
configure: error: Zlib module requires zlib >= 1.0.9.
Checking config.log, I see a few lines like this ... which is why I think
mcal is at fault:
configure:27917: checking for Blowfish crypt
configure:27945: gcc -o
conftest -g -O2 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr
/local -L/usr/local
-Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib/pgsql -L/usr/lib/pgsql
conftest.c -lpq -lmcal -lgd -lresolv -lm -ldl -lcrypt -lnsl -lresolv 1>&5
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmcal
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
configure: failed program was:
#line 27928 "configure"
Any ideas?
