The example you given (on bugs.php.net) is nothing but a bug in the PHP code behind the bugs
database; It doesn't check to see whether queries it performs succeed. It's not a
symptom of any underlying bugs in PHP.
If you receive these warnings, it can be for several different reasons; However, if they suddenly
appear in scripts that used to work and you haven't done anything to your database, it's
most probably due to the following PHP 4 issue.
You most probably have an additional Apache module that uses MySQL; It may be mod_auth_mysql, it
may be PHP 3.0, or another module that uses MySQL. If that's the case, you must explicitly
specify --with-mysql=/path/to/mysql to the PHP 4.0 configure script, and not rely on PHP 4.0's
built-in MySQL support. That should solve your problem.
