how to get involved in OO optimization?

Zeev or Andi, or another core dev spitted out a reply to a post I do not remind, *but* there was little word I remember. "...PHP isn´t optimized for OO (yet)" <-- yet is the word Because almost every script which thinks becoming more complex is OO in my own code archive and I would extremely looking forward optimizing the whole OO execution time. I´m not a C dev, can I do something speeding the process up though? What´s the state of the OO optimization (existing thought, existing project, project at work...)? andré
