Operating system: Solaris 2.7
PHP version: 4.0.0 Release
PHP Bug Type: Installation problem
Bug description: configure assumes bash
[the same problem is described in bug #4564, but no solution is suggested]
I used:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/packages/php-4.0.0
--with-apxs=/usr/local/packages/apache-1.3.12/bin/apxs
Most things seem fine, but then I get:
checking for Apache module support via DSO through
APXS... ./configure: !: not found
yes
Looking in configure, I see [line 2962]:
if ! $APXS -q CFLAGS >/dev/null 2>&1; then
This works in bash, but AFAIK isn't standard bourne shell syntax, eg:
if ! false; then echo true; fi
works in /bin/bash, but not /bin/sh (not on my system anyway)
I've tried changing line 2962 to read:
if $APXS -q CFLAGS >/dev/null 2>&1; then true; else
and this seems to work for me.
Steve.
