Passing a filepointer to a external module

Does anyone know if its possible to fetch a filepointer resource (le_fopen)
from an external module (something like the SWF module or the WDDX module
for example)? I'm working on integrating libcurl support and I need to be
able to do something like this:
$fp = fopen("somefile.txt", "r");
$cp = new curl("http://www.designmultimedia.com");
$cp->setinfile($fp);
$cp->execute();
$cp->free();
fclose ($fp);
So I'm wondering how to fetch the local (to ext/standard/file.c) le_fopen
filepointers into a variable.
