Well, some people extend their perspective over their age.

I replied that this argument might be reasonable for macros which are
similar to inline functions, but that it is not extensible to linkage
declarators.
Additionally, the foundation of today's C development (namely ISO C,
POSIX, SUS) does not use the controversial notation, neither the
standards, the rationales nor the examples thereof.
