Yes still this behaviour only appears when it is configure'ed with
--with-java, Ive compiled and used the cgi executable tons of times to use
it with f.e vim or like you use tclsh, namely testing small snippets.
$ php
<?
echo "apa";
?>
^D
for example, and this works perfectly well unless I configure it with
the --with-java option.
And as you see it doesnt matter if you give it something to parse.
php -vi works thats about it ( same php.ini file for both binaries )
$ php < test.php
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.1pl2
Content-type: text/html
<br>
<b>Fatal error</b>: input in flex scanner failed in <b>-</b> on line
<b>1</b><br>
But a without --with-java I get the desired result.
$ php < test.php
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.1pl2
Content-type: text/html
apa
