I think the answer Rasmus gave in #5740 applies here, quote:
"You probably upgraded your Linux kernel to 2.4.0, right?
If so, you have to upgrade to at least glibc-2.1.3 and make sure your
/usr/include symlinks point at your 2.4 kernel source tree.
This is not a PHP bug."
