I manages to fix this > by removing test_char.h running "make test_char.h" manually, changing > back into the Apache source root and re-running "make" The only time I have seen this happen is when for example you don't have libmysqlclient.so on your ld path and you get an error halfway through the Apache build. If you fix that ld problem and just type 'make' again, then you will have that null test_char.h file. A 'make clean' clears this up. I don't see any reason for this to be a common problem. If your libraries are where they should be and your ld stuff is correctly configured, it should be smooth enough. I have probably built Apache-1.3.x and PHP3 on at least 100 different combinations of operating systems and databases without ever hitting this problem. -Rasmus -- PHP Development Mailing List http://www.php.net/ To unsubscribe send an empty message to php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For help: php-dev-help@lists.php.net
