Hi Joey, Thank you for your fast answer. /usr/lib/lim.so.2.0 has the symbol _pow defined: nm libm.so.2.0 |grep pow 00005e98 T ___ieee754_pow 000055f8 T ___ieee754_powf 00000550 T _pow 00000520 T _powf I tried to update to gcc version 2.95, but the problem is still there. libphp4 is build with the following line (from make output) where -lm is present. /bin/sh /home/java/on/php-4.0.1pl2/libtool --silent --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -o libphp4.la -rpath /home/java/on/php-4.0.1pl2/libs -avoid-version -L/home/java/on/gd1.3 -L/usr/local/lib -R /home/java/on/gd1.3 -R /usr/local/lib stub.lo Zend/libZend.la sapi/apache/libsapi.la main/libmain.la regex/libregex.la ext/db/libdb.la ext/gd/libgd.la ext/mysql/libmysql.la ext/pcre/libpcre.la ext/posix/libposix.la ext/session/libsession.la ext/standard/libstandard.la ext/xml/libxml.la -lttf -lgd -lm -lcrypt Now some strange things, if I try to run the gcc command above (without using libtool), I get the error message: gcc: unrecognized option `-rpath' ld: /home/java/on/php-4.0.1pl2/libs: read_file_symbols(header): premature EOF collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I really don't know where to dig. Upgrading FreeBSD... But I have a couple of web servers running for the moment. Best regards, Olivier
