Shared Memory in PHP

Hi, I was wondering as to what is the maximum shared memory that can be attached usin shm_attach in php. Also, how does one access the shared memory segments created by another C module in php. Basically, i want a custom apache server module to create a shared memory segment that can be accessed by php code. Is it possible to do this?
