Can you do a var_dump() of the variable you are using in that line before the line?
I assume your line looks something like:
$var[] = "foo";
It indeed won't work if $var is a string.

I´ve been testing for hours now and I´ve gathered a new information, the strange bug is maybe related to arrays and maybe the [] and array_push() (both act same, I prefer using []) and maybe auto type assignment.... In same cases this error appears: Fatal error: [] operator not supported for strings in class.strparser.php on line 33 This is with absolutely no-reason, it works with 4.0.1pl2!!! If I manually make arrays of them with $array=array(); this strange error disappears, but then the script hangs again... Has there been same change to variable managment and/or arrays after 4.0.1pl2 (beween 06-30 and 07-27)? This bug is absolutely *not* reproduceable outside the current environment. If I isolate the code with the above error and serialize all used vars and then unserialize in a testcript, and execute, I get no errors... and this hang is not present too. andré -- PHP Development Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-dev-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net--- Andi Gutmans <andi@zend.com> http://www.zend.com/
