The report is either bogus (e.g. empty) or send accidently twice or more.
!!! Reports marked as duplicates are deleted from database from time to time. !!!
Ah... I have always assumed that this meant the bug was a post about a bug that has already been reported.
If this is the common usage (which it may be by now, due to the sheer number of bug reports that you handle :) then perhaps it should be renamed to "Invalid"...
I remember having voted for "invalid" ages :) ago, so far we should dup out useless reports too and the bugs I marked duplicate had absolutetely no importance (I´d like to dup them out again, btw)
1) all the same information, while having another bug report with more and proper information
2) bug is easily reproduceable
3) all bugs on the same systems
If a bug is bogus or a duplicate, then I would close it with a note stating that it was bogus.
I´d say we delete all bugs with redundant information (meeting the 3 facts above) from the db completely or searching *important* data within closed bugs will become a more and more impossible - until we´ve an implemented invalid state. Implemented means, searching excludes invalid bugs and so on...

The report describes the same assumed bug.
