The problem is no longer present with the snapshot from Oct. 2 2000. Thanks! Jason Previous Comments: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2000-09-28 13:26:48] derick@php.net Could you please check the latest cvs version (or snapshot from snaps.php.net). There is a fix in the configure command, and more people reported that it fixed this type of error. If this does not work for you, could you please copy and paste the appriopriate piece of config.log to the bug reporting system? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2000-09-28 08:04:34] jasonc@webpipe.net I just installed libmcrypt 2.2.7 with --prefix=/usr/local/mcrypt The php configure line is: ./configure --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 --with-config-file-path=/usr/loca l/apache/conf --enable-magic-quotes --enable-ftp --with-gd=/usr/local/gd/ -- with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local/gd/ --with-ttf=/usr/local/gd/ --with-imap=/usr/loca l/imap/ --with-mcrypt=/usr/local/mcrypt/ --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql/ --wi th-pgsql=/usr/local/pgsql/ --enable-trans-sid The configure fails: checking for mcrypt support... yes checking for init_mcrypt in -lmcrypt... no checking for mcrypt_module_open in -lmcrypt... no configure: error: Sorry This is the exact same case with libmcrypt 2.4.4. We have multiple Redhat servers and this is the case with all of them. PHP4.0.1pl2 compiles just fine on all servers though.
