This seems to be good idea and missing functionality in InterBase module.
I promise that your code will end up into being included that module in
some way or other, either the way you did yourself or maybe I can use it
as a base for writing that ibase_affected_rows().
But I'll have first to wait until 4.0.3 (really soon now?) is out. It's
only really critical bug fixes now, otherwise the code is freezed.
