I should know since I was the one who wrote that document. =)
But really imap_mail_compose() needs to be fixed. It has a few
bugs too and I have had those reports long time assigned to me.
Just haven't got any time to look into it yet.
Chuck, could you check it out?
Those bug reports are: 3337 and 5084.
