Has anyone managed to get PHP working (with GD library support) on HP-UX
11.00? This is version 4.0.x of PHP.
I've tried gcc. I've tried cc. I've tried DSO and static builds. I've
tried forcibly adding lots of link flags. I've kludged my system /usr/lib
to contain all the libraries for which --with-somelib-dir=/opt/somedir
fails to work, I've modified the src slightly to get mysql to work without
umoddi3 (comment out typedef unsigned long ulong in
ext/mysql/libmysql/globals.h).
Can I get it to link GD in at all? Nope. I do know the gd library is
fine, gdtopng (etc) function perfectly. The end libphp4.sl file simply
has lots of undef's for everything (example: gdImageCopy). I've tried
many things:- hacking libtool, adding -static, adding -lgd *everywhere*,
and still it stays unresolved. I've spent about 50 hours now trying to
solve this one. I've tried to link GD in as static or shared - no change.
Does anyone know how to fix it? Please? A binary from a system on which
it built would be fine, I can kludge my system to match without problems.
If it wasn't for libtool getting in the way, and convoluted Makefiles, I
could probably get it working, but I really don't understand what libtool
is on (crack?)
thanks,
james
