hi all,
it's getting late here in hamburg (GERMANY) 2AM.... i'm playing "sonic
adventures" on my new sega dreamcast (what a machine!!) - bla bla bla
anyhow, i just needed something to get the free space in a directory....
('cause i'm unsing php for db-importers, batch processing etc - and i
LOVE it!!!!)
personally i think that php build in functions should no contain an
underscore (like most of UNIX) - cause that way it's easy to see that a
function in native php / vs a user-written function (but that decision
up to the core guys!). if we/you would keep it that way one could just
call all his/her functions do__something, and everybody would know it's
NOT a native/builtin php function. (i know it's too late for that - eg
xml_something...) -
i decided (if i'm allowed to decide?!) to call the function
diskfreespace 'cause it reads (pronounces) the best (my taste)..... and
(if you ask me) it fits best into the current php-name-space. rasmus (&
rest of core): see previous paragraph... i think it would be good if
php-builtins do not contain an underscore - to make stuff more
"readable"/"obvious" (i cannot think of a good english word for what i
mean.....)
going to have my last beer for today - and playing some more sonic,
cheers (in germany we say "PROST")
tc
