Return of multidimensional arrays...

Hi there, another problem: I want to implement a function that returns a multidimensional array. As I understand it is no problem to return a one-dimensional array that has been built with add_index_long(...) etc, but there is no function that lets me add an array as element of an array like add_index_array(...) ? Not to be misunderstood, I am writing an additional module for PHP in C ...
