Bug description: Feature Req: gz compress/decompress funcs for strings
Rasmus, et. al.
What is the possibility of including general gzip/gunzip functions for strings in 3.0.7. Seeing as
how the zlib already contains support for such beasts using the compress/uncompress functions.
This would be specifically useful for storing large text strings/blobs in databases in addition to
other useful tasks.
Thanks for another killer app.
