I set ORACLE_HOME=C:\ORANT and ORACLE_SID=ORCL which I'm sure are right values because all other applications (like svrmgr30, plus80w, sqlplus etc) connect fine. Finally I downloaded PHP3.0 - and it works without any problems with exactly same configuration without any changes whatsoever, but when I try PHP4.0 - always get TNS error. It looks like it's the same issue as described in Bug id #8132 Regards, Vytautas ID: 8309 Updated by: sniper Reported By: biesas@prontomail.com Old-Status: Open Status: Closed Bug Type: OCI8 related Assigned To: Comments: You should set the required environment variables. See: http://www.php.net/manual/ref.oci8.php --Jani Previous Comments: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- [2000-12-18 00:50:21] biesas@prontomail.com We have IIS 4.0, Win NT 4.0 SP6 and Oracle 8.0.5 client running on first server and Oracle 8.0.5 database on second. We have no problems connecting from first server to Oracle using SvrMgr30 or SqlPlus, but from PHP when doing OCILogon() we always get "Warning: Oracle: Connection Failed: ORA-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination". The same goes and to ora_logon(). To check if Oracle configuration is OK we compiled example which comes with Oracle (cdemo81.c) and it connects without any problems.
