Empress just uses the ODBC functions. The only Empress specific feature
is that it can utilise the SQLDriverConnect option in ODBC (in the
unified_odbc.c module).
This does not require an Empress specific function - it just modifies
the content of the dsn argument for odbc_connect and odbc_pconnect: this
is documented in the FAQ (item 1.11).
