Operating system: Linux 2.2.1
PHP version: 3.0.6
PHP Bug Type: Misbehaving function
Bug description: fclose() may not really close
I have played with UNIX sockets. I discovered sockets stood open
even when I explicitly closed them with fclose(). So I looked into the
source code - I was unable to find where the actual close
(on OS level) is - it seemed there is none. So I inserted
fclose(fp); at the bottom of the php3_fclose(), recompiled
PHP and tried again - the sockets where not staying open
anymore...
