Bug description: metaphone as an alternative to soundex
There is an algorithm called Metaphone, implemented here (in C++):

This would be a great addition to PHP3, as an alternative
to Soundex() which is not nearly as accurate as Metaphone.
Although more complex than Soundex() [soundex is VERY simple], it's probably not a lot of work
for someone experienced in porting C++.
