I'm +1 on the overloaded exit() that doesn't print out its argument, if it looks like a number. For the sake of world peace.

consensus... well, it wasn't reached. I guess, the overloaded solution - exit(string, int) - is the last thing that was proposed and not too many people objected to. Hi, I tried to use PHP in connection with shellprogramming. I would be fine if you could return exit codes to shellscripts. So that you can use something like "if [ $? -eq 0 ]" to test if the PHP-Script had run succesful. So wouldn`t need to use Perl in future. -- Edit bug report at: http://bugs.php.net/?id=14747&edit=1 -- PHP Development Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-dev-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
