The infrastructure is there, as far as PHP's concerned (Zend supports general purpose OO syntax overloading, and PHP 4.0 implements COM support using it). As Rasmus said, if you can programmatically call Java methods from C by name (which I seriously doubt you can), you can write a Java module for PHP fairly easily. I'll be happy to aid in case you know of a way to perform this C<->Java bridge.

this is a 2 part question: 1) just how difficult (ok, you already know it is...) would it be to "allow" php to access some Java classes? ie:-- Zeev Suraski <zeev@zend.com> http://www.zend.com/ For a PGP public key, finger bourbon@netvision.net.il<? $myinstance = java MyClass("a", "b"); /* maybe "java" couldwork like "new" ...maybe extendthis to a "com" operator as well? */$myinstance.MyFunc(); $myinstance.fubar = 12; ?>2) would anyone see any real benefit to this? let the brainwars begin... -brian- -- PHP Development Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-dev-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
