Line 74 is exif_imagetype() i have tried that with several images and it
works for me.
Q: Do you use a 64bit machine?
Q: Did you try tests with run-tests.php (1 - 3 should work, 4 fails)?

Love to follow up my own posts... lets correct this with what seems to be a more proper answer, moving over to a size_t vs an unsigned. Mainly because it seems that exif_process_IFD_TAG calls the exif_process_IFD_in_JPEG function, passing in a IFDlenght of type size_t. Still can't run the test.php file here though.
