Within the ext/java system the following code can be found:
#ifdef PHP_WIN32
#include "win32/winutil.h"
#define DL_ERROR php_win_err()
#else
#define DL_ERROR dlerror()
#endif
starting on line 37.
This declaration of DL_ERROR breaks on OSX, as the dlerror() system does
not exist. Markonen and I have implemented a system for use in OSX, but
the question raised is... is this code really necessary? Aren't these all
defined in the Zend engine already?
I can't test anything because as of yet, I haven't been able to get
configure to work with --with-java so, some of this is blind questioning.
