IMO, including script file give us more freedom to write/execute test script. It's not efficient creating normal script file when there is problem in phpt.Any self-respecting editor will give you that option, if you pay a little attention to blocks of code but this is semantics. However - it depends on include and relative path issues to work as expected. If the include statement fails, it shouldn't make every other test fail.
