Well, it is one step closer. Replace AM_PROG_LIBTOOL with this for now: LIBTOOL=$srcdir/libtool AC_SUBST(LIBTOOL) It will still give a warning, but it should at least work. I don't have time to look thoroughly into it this weekend, but if someone could give me temporary access to a box next week (email me for ssh key) that has this problem, I can take a look at it. - Stig On Sat, 24 Jul 1999, Danny Heijl wrote: > Yes, but then I get the following error : > > ext/xml/Makefile.am:8: library used but LIBTOOL' not defined in > configure.in' > > confure runs, but make fails for xml : > > .... snip ... > rm -f libphpext_xml.a > ar cru libphpext_xml.a xml.o > ranlib libphpext_xml.a > make[2]: LIBTOOL@: Command not found > make[2]: *** [xml.lo] Error 127 > ... snip ... > > But now I can at least recompile (without xml support). > > Would reverting to an earlier version (1.2f ?) of libtool solve this ? > > Thanks ! > > Danny. > --- > > > Stig Bakken wrote: > > > > Does the error go away if you comment out the "AM_PROG_LIBTOOL" line from > > configure.in.in? > > > > - Stig > > > > On Sat, 24 Jul 1999, Danny Heijl wrote: > > > > > The problem started when buildconf required new versions of > > > autoconf/automake/libtool. > > > > > > I got them from GNU, upgraded and this was the result. > > > > > > And "grep AC_DISABLE_FAST_INSTALL aclocal.m4" gives : > > > > > > AC_DEFUN(AC_DISABLE_FAST_INSTALL, [AC_BEFORE([$0],[AC_LIBTOOL_SETUP])dnl > > > if(a,b,[AC_DISABLE_FAST_INSTALL])dnl > > > > > > Any hints much appreciated. > > > > > > Danny. > > > --- > > > > > > Stig Bakken wrote: > > > > > > > > What does this command give? > > > > > > > > grep AC_DISABLE_FAST_INSTALL aclocal.m4 > > > > > > > > - Stig > > > > > > > > On 23 Jul 1999 danny.heijl@cevi.be wrote: > > > > > > > > > From: danny.heijl@cevi.be > > > > > Operating system: Linux RH 5.2 > > > > > PHP version: 4.0 Latest CVS (23/07/1999) > > > > > PHP Bug Type: Installation problem > > > > > Bug description: autoconf failure : AC_DISABLE_FAST_INSTALL undefined > > > > > > > > > > suddenly buildconf fails : > > > > > > > > > > buildconf: checking installation... > > > > > buildconf: autoconf version 2.13 (ok) > > > > > buildconf: automake version 1.4 (ok) > > > > > buildconf: libtool version 1.3 (ok) > > > > > buildconf: created or modified aclocal.m4 > > > > > autoconf: Undefined macros: > > > > > ***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_DISABLE_FAST_INSTALL > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > > > > > PHP Development Mailing List > > > > > <http://www.php.net/> > > > > > To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net > > > > > For additional commands, e-mail: php-dev-help@lists.php.net > > > > > To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net > > > > > > > > > > -- > PHP Development Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> > To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net > For additional commands, e-mail: php-dev-help@lists.php.net > To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net >
