Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2014-02-23 08:15:36] krakjoe@php.net Automatic comment from SVN on behalf of krakjoe Revision: http://svn.php.net/viewvc/?view=revision&revision=332879 Log: fix #66747 incorrect information ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2014-02-20 14:05:53] matteosistisette at gmail dot com I meant "hardly ambiguous" (not being able to edit the report is SO frustrating) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2014-02-20 14:05:02] matteosistisette at gmail dot com Description: ------------ --- From manual page: http://www.php.net/info.configuration --- """ This sets the maximum time in seconds a script is allowed to parse input data, like POST and GET. It is measured FROM THE MOMENT OF RECEIVING ALL DATA on the server to the start of script execution. """ --- However, from manual page: http://php.net/manual/en/features.file-upload.common-pitfalls.php --- """ Warning max_input_time sets the maximum time, in seconds, the script is allowed to RECEIVE input; this INCLUDES FILE UPLOADS. For large or multiple files, or users on SLOWER CONNECTIONS, the default of 60 seconds may be exceeded. """ (emphasys added) Both statements are pretty clear and hardly unambiguous. Unfortunately each one implies the other is wrong. According to the first, the time it takes to upload the file clearly does NOT count as input time. According to the second, it clearly does. I don't know which one is true but definitely it can't be both, so please fix the one that is wrong, so people won't need to do benchmarking to figure out: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3758377/php-configuration-max-execution-time-and-max-input-time/3758522#3758522 Test script: --------------- . Expected result: ---------------- - Actual result: -------------- . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=66747&edit=1
