I don't believe you can drop the "to". I just thought about class_exists, and think
it both sounds better and fosters consistency to mimic the class_exists wording:
"Whether or not to call __autoload by default if the original class is not found."

Does "Whether to do autoload if the ..." seem correct to you? If so, I'm not sure
it's grammatically wrong to drop the to and write "Whether do autoload if the ...".
