 New Comment:

The documentation I was referring to has been moved to

	https://www.php.net/manual/en/datetime.format.php

In it, the description for the “r” format code says:

	» RFC 2822 formatted date

RFC 2822 has been obsoleted by RFC 5322:

	http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc5322.html

To what exactly are you referring to? Maybe consider to provide a
pull request[1].

Description:
------------
The documentation on the date() function at https://www.php.net/manual/en/function.date
describes the code as for an RFC2822 formatted date.

This is pedantic, I know, but RFC2822 has long been obsoleted by RFC5322.
