ID: 47744 User updated by: gerry dot spm+phpBug at gmail dot com Reported By: gerry dot spm+phpBug at gmail dot com Status: Closed Bug Type: Documentation problem Operating System: Ubuntu Intrepid PHP Version: 5.2.9 New Comment: LOL, that was good. :) Before reporting the default status issue I double checked in a clean browser profile and the default was in fact "Closed". So I was wrong and there was no bug in the bugs.php.net form. I managed to track the problem down to an extension I had installed called "Lastpass". It auto fills my password and in doing so changes the status box to "Open". Don't know why, but it's their bug, so I'll be reporting it to them. :) Cheers Gerry Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-03-24 00:48:14] danbrown@php.net I've briefly consulted with Stephen Hawking and Michio Kaku, and neither is entirely sure what happens when you report a bug on the bug reporter.... so keep your fingers crossed that we don't wind up in a parallel universe where Futurama watches us. Oh, and yes: report it as a "PHP.net website problem." When in doubt, use your best judgment (like that), because it can always be reclassified on our end as appropriate. And thank you very, very much, once again! ~ Dan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-03-24 00:42:31] gerry dot spm+phpBug at gmail dot com I know it wasn't a jab, just apologizing for the inconvenience. Yeah the default is open for me. So do I report bugs about this bug tracker in the bug tracker itself, or will that cause the universe to close in on itself? If so, I can only see "PHP.net Website problem", is that the correct category? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-03-24 00:21:36] danbrown@php.net Completely understandable, Gerry. It wasn't directed as a jab at you. And actually, default status on a closed project for developers is "Closed," so if it's otherwise on the reporting side, you've just discovered another reportable bug. Lucky you! ;-P Thanks! ~ Dan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-03-23 23:40:57] gerry dot spm+phpBug at gmail dot com Sorry! Maybe that dropdown should default to closed if it's already closed as reopening was of course not my intention. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-03-23 23:36:47] danbrown@php.net I'll pass the word on to Kalle as I re-close this bug. And as he'll say: you're welcome. ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
