 New Comment:

In addition to the comment above, the whole DateTime OO section of the
documentation is very poorly written and confusing. For example,
DateTimeZone::listIdentifiers() is identified as only PHP >= 5.3.0,
however the function itself works in 5.2.8. However, the function
prototype listed on the detail page for this class apparently does not
work, and since there is no BC information on these pages, there is no
way to know what the function prototype actually is prior to 5.3.0. It
also lists class constants that are available here, but they do not work
in 5.2.8 which is problematic when trying to use the documentation.

Description:
------------
In the documentation, this function is marked as being available from
5.3.0 upwards, but it already works in my 5.2.8 shipped with the WAMP
stack from XAMPP:
http://us2.php.net/manual/de/datetimezone.listidentifiers.php

Since I want to use this function for a larger open source project
which needs to be compatible from 5.2.0 onwards, I need to know if this
is a glitch in my PHP 5.2.8 or if the documentation is broken, in which
case I need to find another way to solve my issue. :-)

Thanks for your help.
