Description:
------------
Hello,
I caught an translation error in
http://www.php.net/types.string#language.types.string.substr
(German) -
maybe it has just not been updated; however, I got pretty confused.
As the documentation says:
"Characters within strings may be accessed and modified by [...] using
square array-brackets like $str[42] [...].
They may also be accessed using braces like $str{42} for the same
purpose. However, using square array-brackets is preferred because the
{braces} style is deprecated as of PHP 6."
German documentation re-translated:
"Characters within strings may be accessed and modified by [...] using
braces [...].
For downwards compatibility you may use the array-brackets. However,
this syntax is depracated as of PHP 4."
