Maybe list all these old/dead/deprecated aliases somewhere? Referring to them all over the place may add needless clutter. And the following checks for missing docs: http://svn.php.net/viewvc/phpdoc/doc-base/trunk/scripts/check-missing-docs.php? view=markup It also skips known deprecated features like key_exists().
