Do you recall which version of PHP you were using for the test? As
noted on the
manual page for sqlite_key(), it could not be called as a procedural
function
prior to PHP 5.0.4.

Description:
------------
While testing the PHP code during atestfest we found that we couldn't
call sqlite_key(). After some more testing and searching it turned up it
was a bug: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=31510
As said in the bug report, the bug isn't going to be fixed. To keep the
documentation clear this should be mentioned in a NOTE or something.
